Our walk takes us along and above the canal on a section that follows the boundaries between Islington (old Finsbury) and Hackney (old Shoreditch). We'll see evidence of how much this section of waterway has been regenerated in the past few decades and how the old run-down, damp, derelict waterside buildings have been transformed into offices and airy living spaces. Learn why this was once a no-go area lined with manufactories and noisy warehouses. Hear about boats and boxes, rubber and metals, fancy goods and pleasure gardens.
