Correlated Journeys by Sarah Emily Porter in collaboration with James Trundle
Artist, Sarah Emily Porter, and maker, James Trundle, have designed a bench that facilitates the alignment of peoples spatial and temporal rhythms throughout the city. Inspired by the complex underground transport network, the form and colour palette represent the seven tube lines in the Square Mile and Cheapside areas. Correlated Journeys was kindly supported by Moss Timber and HMG Paint Ltd.
This bench is one of five new benches across Cheapside and the result of a design competition organised by the London Festival of Architecture, the City of London Corporation and Cheapside Business Alliance. Each bench showcases one of London’s brilliant emerging architects and designers and is a public gift that help the City remain an exceptional place to live, work and visit.
