Breaking Boundaries

Three consecutive talks focusing on issues that challenge the notion of boundaries across JMP's international portfolio
The evening will be hosted by JMP Associate Heather Macey, supported by JMP Associate Directors Jasmine Lewin and Colin Bennie

DEFINING NEW BOUNDARIES IN THE UNZONED CITY: BEDS ON SHEDS

As London continues to grow, we need to ensure that employment and industry can still exist within the city. How do we reconcile the building of much needed housing within a limited amount of land? This talk looks at Beds on Sheds as a radical building typology to co-locate housing over industrial uses, with JMP’s Thameside West Phase 1 as case-study. Presented by JMP Architect Tatiana Vela.

BREAKING BOUNDARIES IN RELIGIOUS ARCHITECTURE

Religious Buildings have always provided a natural meeting point for communities. Religious architecture today, not only offers a place for worship but also a wealth of opportunity to their immediate context and wider social infrastructure. Presented by JMP Architect Sophie Samuels.

This talk explores the boundaries of religious architecture in relation to today’s society.

BEYOND STATION BOUNDARIES

Transport projects increasingly deliver more than just the function of moving people from A to B. As places of assembly, commerce and leisure at the heart of communities, the boundaries of 21st-century stations are blurring. The talk will focus on the increasingly specialist needs of today's traveller and how JMP projects, including King's Cross and the Belfast Transport Hub, have responded. Presented by JMP Senior Architect Imran Patel.
