Msheireb Museums form a historical grouping of four traditional heritage houses in the heart of Msheireb Downtown Doha, the world’s first sustainable regeneration project located in Qatar’s capital, Doha. They are outstanding examples of enduring continuity and the meaning of history in a city which is otherwise a place of rapid change and they represent an important part of Qatar’s national history.

The book, 'Msheireb Museums, Transforming Doha’s Heritage Houses', emphasises the importance of conserving the history embedded in the structures and materials of significant traditional buildings. It also explains how the conservation of these buildings, and the design of their new elements were actually achieved. Transforming Doha’s heritage houses into Msheireb Museums embodies the development of a kind of database and a sharing of knowledge that will become increasingly important not only to future generation of Qataris, but also to city planners and conservationists in other parts of the region.
