Supporting Diversity Handbook launch

Together with the Mayor’s Design Advocates (MDAs) City Hall's Regeneration and Economic Development team has been developing the ‘Supporting Diversity’ pillar of the Good Growth by Design programme. This work has been led by the Diversity Sounding Board, which consists of ten design advocates and six advocate organisations.

The Supporting Diversity Handbook is a tool for advocacy, communication, and action on the barriers to equality diversity and inclusion (EDI). It demonstrates the Mayor’s commitment and leadership on this agenda, and invites the sector to join him by taking practical action to overcome barriers to EDI in the built environment sector.

Hear from Jules Pipe, Deputy Mayor for Planning, Regeneration and Skills and Debbie Weekes-Bernard, Deputy Mayor for Social Integration, Social Mobility and Community Engagement about our work on diversity and on the opportunities and challenges delivering inclusive spaces.

The Supporting Diversity Handbook brings together research, examples of leadership and recommendations that can be applied at all career stages. Speakers will present case studies that demonstrate where great work is already being done.

The event has been planned to share knowledge, expertise and experience across organisations and partners and will be an opportunity to network and review actions, both by us, the Greater London Authority (GLA), and those within the built environment sector and architecture profession.
