This is the UK launch of the new must-read book "New Chinese Architecture"[Thames and Hudson] that features the work of 20 female Chinese architects. Hosted at the University of Liverpool London campus in Finsbury Square, Moorgate, the launch will also contain an exhibition of these exciting architects' work demonstrating the variety of their ideas across the country. There will also be a presentation and discussion on Chinese architecture today.
Zhang Xin, Co-founder and CEO SOHO China, says: “China’s women architects have proven themselves to be talented, confident, hard-working and successful. These are new, young female designers stepping onto the world stage. Their work is innovative and challenging. Whether traditional or contemporary, small or large scale, old or young, academic or practitioner, their projects show China to be a place of real creative possibilities.”
Author, Austin Williams from Kingston School of Art says: "Over the past decade, China’s new generation of female architects are engaging with traditions and international trends, as well as posing entirely new architectural ideas. Their projects reveal China to be a place full of creative possibilities".
