Conceived as an exchange of gifts, this acrobatic exploration of people and place from one of France’s most acclaimed circus companies, Compagnie XY, provides an ephemeral and sometimes spectacular vision of place through the eyes of those who live there.
Following a residency with local people on The Moorings Estate in Thamesmead, this captivating experience shines a light on humanity and our need to be nurtured and supported, through the exploration of familiar places and local stories. This unique residency is designed to reveal The Moorings at its best, with the French acrobats responding to the architecture around them, and the stories that define the neighbourhood.
Les Voyages is presented as part of Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London’s leading festival of free outdoor theatre and performing arts, running from 21 June – 6 July 2019. Bringing something different to your doorstep, GDIF showcases the highest quality international performances and celebrates place, people and community in Greenwich, East London and, for the first time, the City of London.
