Design is a multifaceted discipline where boundaries blur and are in a constant state of flux. This affects many aspects of creative output but the symbiotic relationship between architecture and graphic design has never been more entwined than it is now. The shape of buildings and structures are incorporated into graphic identities, while branding is now a part of early concept discussions to help define what places and spaces should be.
SODA studio was founded on the belief that design must be approached from a holistic standpoint. The practice produces groundbreaking architecture and innovative graphic strategies, and has started merging the two on single projects. Working with the learning network YCN, SODA will host an evening of discussion and debate about the role of graphics and architecture in contemporary society. Speakers will include Russell Potter director at SODA, Joy Nazzari of dn&co, Martyn Evans of U+I and Morag Myerscough, looking at the ways we shape environments through bold visions and beautiful forms.
