Francine Houben: Designing for Culture

Join the founder of design firm Mecanoo for a look at groundbreaking cultural projects engaging civic audiences around the world.

As the founder and creative director of international design firm Mecanoo, Francine Houben combines the disciplines of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture in an untraditional way. Join her for an insight into her groundbreaking projects including Taiwan’s National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts, - a celebration of modern architectural design & traditional local culture - and to learn how she uses architecture to reach across boundaries to engage a wide civic audience from the New York Public Library to the world’s largest performing arts venue.

Inspired by the local Banyan trees with their iconic crowns, Taiwan’s National Kaohsiung Center for the Arts is Taiwan’s most significant cultural investment in a generation.
