DAEDALUM, Alan Parkinson (Architects of Air)

Lose yourself in this dazzling, immersive architectural installation, from the artist Alan Parkinson, whose spectacular “cathedrals of air” have attracted more than 3 million visitors worldwide. With its otherworldly fusion of light and colour, subtle soundscape and unexpected beauty, let curiosity take over as you explore the dazzling paths and luminous tunnels of this unique and unforgettable structure. Just 25 minutes on the DLR from central London, combine your visit with a pitstop at our Dockside festival site, complete with deckchairs, playful fountains, street food and a bar.

Opening times:
Friday 21 June: 1 pm - 9 pm
Saturday 22 June: 11 am - 9 pm
Sunday 23 June: 11 am - 6 pm
Please note that last admission is 20 minutes before close.

Join Alan Parkinson, founder and designer of Architects of Air, on Friday 21 June at 5.30 pm for a talk inside the structure focusing on Boundaries of Architecture and working with light and air. The talk will run for around 30 minutes and is free and open for all to attend.

Daedalum is presented as part of Greenwich+Docklands International Festival (GDIF), London’s leading festival of free outdoor theatre and performing arts, running from 21 June – 6 July 2019. Bringing something different to your doorstep, GDIF showcases the highest quality international performances and celebrates place, people and community in Greenwich, East London and, for the first time, the City of London.

DAEDALUM is supported by the Royal Docks and RAD London.

There is step-free access in and around the installation. We highly encourage audience members to use public transportation to Royal Albert Dock, as Beckton Park DLR station is fully accessible and conveniently located near to the performance site (app. 5 minutes). Look out for our GDIF volunteers, who will be directing audience members from station to site.
