vPPR Architects invite you to visit our new studio space in Kentish Town. Our open studios event will offer a behind the scenes insight into our approach to design and process of working. vPPR Architects was set up in 2009 by Tatiana von Preussen, Catherine Pease and Jessica Reynolds, and is an award-winning practice known for bold designs that work intelligently in complex locations. We design buildings that find opportunities in constraints, responding with elegant yet striking forms that playfully negotiate between private and communal spaces. Responding to the LFA theme ‘Boundaries’, we will give a talk on a selection of projects, with a particular focus on our work on infill sites, often bounded on all sides and surrounded by neighbours. Through careful design, we are able to overcome the challenges of limited access, overlooking, lack of light and party wall negotiations to unlock these landlocked sites. These projects represent a wider opportunity to develop leftover spaces, densifying the urban grain to create small but valuable contributions to London‘s housing stock. Thursday 20th June 6-8pm (talk at 7pm) Free to attend.
