AA in Translation

Architecture exhibitions are often hard to understand. Experimental ideas dwell on the invention of new terminology, abstract ideas and never-before seen concepts. To the unfamiliar eye these ideas seem to have landed from another planet without any clear explanation or specificity to anchor them.

To accompany Projects Review 2019, students across the school will shape a new reading of the exhibition as told through a selection of projects that cut across the boundaries of units, years, programmes and hierarchy. These themed tours will allow visitors to follow a narrative trajectory and experience the exhibition through that lens. By translating the architectural jargon, lengthy texts and complex media into a series of short accessible performances, the end of year show can finally be enjoyed by architects and non-architects alike. This is an opportunity to hear more about selected projects within the show and discover which topics or agendas are the most relevant to the discipline today.

Tours will be held daily during the week commencing 24 June no need to book, meet outside No.36 Bedford Square. The themes for the different tours will be announced closer to the time.
